ANNUAL HCHS EVENTS
AUGUST: Houston County Fair
Every August during the Houston County Fair, the Houston County Historical Society's Main Museum, the Sheldon Presbyterian Church, Flatten-Swenson Pioneer Home, the Mayville Town Hall, the Daley School, and the Ag Machinery building are all open to the public, and staffed by volunteers and demonstrators. NOVEMBER: Annual Meeting
Annual meetings for the Houston County Historical Society are held on the first Sunday in November in the Main Museum. Yearly reports are given as well as a summary of the year's activities. The meetings also feature a program/speaker on items of interest to residents of Houston County. The public is always welcome to attend.
DECEMBER: Old Fashioned Christmas Open House
At the beginning of each December, the Houston County Historical Society hosts a Christmas Open House weekend. HCHS volunteers decorate the buildings for the holidays and the HCHS brings in demonstrations such as wood carving and spinning wool.
